41 Cadillac Progress

The family bought me the 41 Cadillac rocker panels ( inner & outer) for Christmas that are the last pieces I needed to get the body ready to put it back on the frame and start incorporating the 07 floor pans. The body ready to go on frame.  This is the inside of the rear of the left rocker before installing the replacement .  Inside front of left rocker after replacement is installed.  The outer left rocker was damaged on the bottom half so  I decided to make my cut below the door jams to make sure the doors would fit.  Picture #1 & 6 shows the left rocker complete.  The right rocker had more damage than the left that required part of the door sill be replaced.  The next 5 pictures show the amount of damage that the right rocker had; the rocker panels in this car, support the body and all 6 body mounts are welded to the rockers.  The replacement rockers were straight and the body is curved, that required cuts every 3" on the flanges, bo

Scottsdale Good Guys Show

Each November we go to the Good Guys Show in Scottsdale. This year we took the 65 Thunderbird for its second car show. The weather was good in the upper 70's in the afternoon and 50's at night. I was told that over 3000 cars were there on Saturday. We did not win anything but we competed and got a lot of good comments on the T-Bird.  Big variety of cars and lots of them.  My Grandson Riece walked a  couple of miles with me looking at the cars on Saturday.  This Ca

Last year the Starliner won the Fireman's Pick award and is featured on this years T-Shirt.  The T-Shirt has last years winners and all the K-9 dogs that this car show helps support. 50  This is the first outing and car show for the Thunderbird and on the way over the fuel delivery system failed (FiTech) and we had to put it into the car trailer to bring it the rest of the way.  It was a little overcast and cool but Karen and Charley enjoyed the show.  3 Pictures below are some of the cars at the show.  This 50 Studebaker won an award.  58 Edsel is another award winner.  My Daughter (Michelle), Son in-law (Bobby) and Granddaughter (Dani) came from Coeur d' Alene Idaho. Dani is who the 65 Mustang is for and she will be doing the work on it.  The 41 Cadillac rust restoration is an ongoing p
