We arrived in Scottsdale at the Good Guys Show on Thursday Nov. 15th and set up the camper in the West World RV park, picked up our entry package for the 51 and visited with among others Lee Abrams and his Brother who show their Kaisers and Darrens.       On Friday, I took the 51 to the Polo Field for show and shine then that afternoon we drove the 51 to "Hot Rods by Dean" for the kick off party and BBQ where the 53 Kaiser was featured. The car was parked at the Front Door! Dean and Tony greeted us  and I got a picture of Karen & Dean. We had BBQ hamburgers and cake, got lots of wonderful compliments on the Kaiser. Saturday, Darryl (From Dean's shop) drove the Kaiser to the show where it was displayed in the Builders Choice area along with the 51.  That afternoon we were notified by the Good Guys that the Kaiser had won "Best Bitchin" car award. Sunday, the Kaiser was displayed in the winners circle then at 2pm Kar

K 9 Car Show

Image
We went to the  Mohave County Sheriff's K-9 benefit car show Sunday Nov. 4th to support the County's K-9 program where about 100+ cars showed up.  I parked next to a restored 1915 Ford that was done very nicely. There were low riders,  street rods, stock cars and   and an orange and yellow Willey with an antique trailer. I got a good picture of Karen with one of the Sheriff dogs.  The qweather was great with a friendly crowd.  Next its off to Good Guys Scottsdale Nov 15th to 19th.  We will have both the 51 and KarensKaiser which was just finished.

We took the 51 to the Run to the Sun Car Show in Lake Havasu City Arizona last weekend October 18, 19, & 20.  We stayed in our camper at "Crazy Horse RV Park" on Havasu Island where the car show was held.  Charlie the blonde dog had never been in water before and he enjoyed his wade in the lake. We arrived on thursday and picked up the registration paper work and paid for a reserved parking psace.  I did the walk about around the display area to pick out a space and to place ther eserved sign.  Then we spent the day just enjoying the warmth and sunlight. Friday and Saturday was car show from 8 am to 4 pm with about 700 other cars. We didn't win anything but enjoyed the show visiting friends, watching people, looking at cars and where we stayed. We are headed to the Fort Mohave K-9 Benefit Car Show Nov 4th 9 to 2 on Hwy 95 all proceeds go to the Mohave County Sheriff's K9 program which is supported entirely by the community.  Hope to see you there !

Kingman Air/Auto Show

Image
Went to the Kingman Air/Auto Show October 6 & 7th with the 51 and was disappointed that the event was not as good as it had been in the past years. There were only 25 to 30 cars on Saturday and 21 on Sunday with only a few being street rods and one unique stage coach vehicle on a Ford truck chassis. The "Pick -a-Part" Jet powered Truck put on a good show and the Air show was good but fewer planes this year.  The radio control model air planes were very good. I will be at the "Run to the Sun" in Lake Havasu City on October 18, 19, and 20 with the 51.

Roddin on the River

Image
We used our new rig a Lance Model 1181 that is an 11'6" camper on the F350 dually and the new Wells Cargo 24' enclosed trailer at the end of September to go to "Roddin on the River" car show in Laughlin NV at the Riverside Resort.  We stayed at the Riverside Resorts RV Park. We arrived on Friday Morning and checked in, go the RV set up then tried to get the 51 out of the trailer but it would not start.  I spent 2 hrs taking covers off and testing everything and finally found 4 blown fuses that were replaced and the car started.  We spent Friday and Saturday at the "Show & Shine"  walked around to look at all the cars and trucks (some really nice ones) and went to see Don Laughlin's car collection.  It was in the 90's and 100's both days and we used our shade chairs. On Sunday morning the awards were given out at 7:30 am where we got an award for the 51.  We left the resort at 10:00 am and arrived home about noon.
