1960 EDSEL PROJECT

After all the parts and pieces that would fit into the blast cabinet were cleaned and painted the sway bar and drive shaft were left and had to be sand blasted with the larger unit outside the shop.

The original 292 CI engine and transmission were set into the chassis to make sure I had the correct drive shaft and that all the linkage, brake & fuel lines fit.
New rubber brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, wheel seals and shocks were installed. The u - joints were taken apart cleaned, checked and greased then the drive line was installed along with the front sway bar with new rubber mounts.
I was able to salvage most of the brake & fuel lines but had to make new lines for the rear end and front fuel line.

The body was put on the rotisserie, moved outside then cleaned and washed.
The body and chassis were in two (2) different bays and were moved out for the body to be put on the chassis.
Bottom of the body was primed where the floor pans were replaced and all the under seal was removed.

The body was moved in first and lifted off the rotisserie with the 2 post lift. The body mounts (pads) were good and reused. The frame and body have matching numbers.

I moved the car to another bay that freed up my 2 post hoist. Next I will bolt and fit all the parts (doors, finders, hatch, tail gate, dash, etc.) to make sure all the pieces are there before taking it all apart again for engine / transmission rebuild, body work and paint.
