ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to visit old friends and family. Friday, spent the day with an old high school friend. He collects old trucks and Jags. Had absolutely wonderful time visiting and he wanted to catch up with a really old time friend I hadn't seen for over 40 years.
40 Ford One Ton Truck
196? Jaguar with v 12
1949 -50 Ford 1 1/2 ton flatbed
194? 1 1/2 ton Military support vehicle for Chuck Yaeger when he broke the sound barrier.
Off we went to visit Fred Stokes and his world largest Oil Can Collection (over 7,000 cans). He has a car show each year and you can visit a photo album of 2006 and 2007 shows
Mr. F. Stokes oil can collection considered to be the largest in the world.
1932 Roadster with a stroker small block chevy.
32 Roadster with a super charged Hemi in it.
Spent Saturday helping one of my sons put a motor in his bronco while Karen visited with her daughter and went shopping. Finding clothes here in Kingman for a six foot tall wife isn't fun. Much easier in Sonoma County.
Petaluma Hot Rod Swap Meet Sunday
My Friends Edsel
When I was visiting my friend he showed me a series of books by Lorin Sorenson regarding Fords vehicles. So imagine my surprise when I meet him Sunday at the Petaluma Hot Rod Swap Meet and brought an autographed book on the 49-50 Fords. Anyone interested in Fords should have the series
Monday, was the "magic" day. Picked another 66 TBird (3 windows) from the "field of birds" [anyone interested in a tbird from my friend leave us a message with email address and we will forward it for you.
Newest TBird
Tuesday, we overslept and got a late start for the drive home (left at 4:30 am instead of 3:30 am) hit traffic, long drive got even longer when left the Boron rest stop and 2 miles later hit backed up trafffic jam 1 1/2 hours later finally able to move. Stopped for gas at exit 9 and headed home the last 100 miles whens ome guy began flashing lights etc to pull us over. Ron figured something was wrong with the trailer and stopped. It turned out guy wanted to sell us another Tbird. So, sometime this week or next will take a look at it. We got home at 6:15 p.m. very long day.
We have a new computer arriving. Wife warns me that we could be off line for a long time. So Hi how are you and see you soon
