This was the fourth year we took the Starliner on the "fun Run" on Route 66 from Seligman to Topock. There is a Friday night cruise and barbecue in Seligman but, we did our normal Saturday morning run from the house (East on I40) to Seligman 43 miles, for the 10:00am start. Then west on Route 66 through Peach Springs, Truxton, Valentine, Hackberry, Valle Vista to Kingman that is another 60 miles and takes us around 2 hours with the stops along the way. In Kingman old town 2 of the main streets are closed for all the Fun Run cars to park for a Show and Shine car show, with lots of vendors and live bands. A lot of people recognized the Starliner and stopped by for a visit and we enjoy all the other cars. On Sunday morning we go from Kingman to Golden shores through Goldenrod and Oatman for the awards then out to Topock and back east on I40 to home that is 150 mile day. Saturday morning we left the house and drove the Starliner 45 miles east on I-40 to Seligman AZ, arriving at 9:00 a.m. and lined up with the other cars along the main street getting ready for the 10:00 a.m. start of the Fun Run. Famous landmark "ROADKILL CAFE" Angel waving us off on the start (If you watched "Cars" the movie and watched the interviews at the end you will see Angel). From Seligman we went west on Historical Route 66 stopping at the Grand Canyon Caverns where Ron went on the 1 hour tour while Karen read a book and looked after the car (she is a mite bit claustrophobic). The tour was very good, you walk about 3/4 of a mile up and down stairs and inclines temp. was 56 degrees. Lots of exercise and very interesting. From the caverns we continued west thru Peach Springs, a Hualapai Indian Reservation, where they set up food, and goods, arts and native dances. Got a wonderful surprise in the mail today. When we did the Route 66 Fun Run (May 5-6)in Kingman we won an award for best custom from Roth Metal Flake The last few weekends we have gone to "Whataburger" in Kingman Arizona for the Saturday night get together. This last Saturday we went to the Powerhouse in Kingman for the 6th annual car show. Got to meet lots of new people, and see some really great cars. This Saturday we are going to Prescott for another car show. We drive Route 40 and get lots of waves and horn honking in acknowledgement of the car. Finished welding the floor boards (T-Bird) in Kaiser. Started in the back and will work forward. the 1966 T-Bird (Blue) runs good and I am waiting for a new Alternator before I take it out on the Highway.

New Engine is in but............. we have an oil leak and a water leak. Have to pull the intake manifold. Still trying to make the May 5-6 deadline for Route 66 Fun Run. The 1 -16" pusher fan won't cool the engine have to add fans. Looked at Spal Fans but theirs is too thick at 4" deep. Will try to use the flex-a-lite 2 5/8" low profile fan Or I might buy 2 12" 2 1/4" deep fans.

The Starline new engine project is waiting for parts to arrive and the fix for the new header clearance. Brake lines are relocated, throttle kick down linkage, electric fan and hoses for the new A/C system are complete. still have to make up new power steering hoses after the new pump and remote reservoir are installed. So while waiting for parts I picked up a 1966 Thunderbird from a friend in No. California for yet another project. The Kaiser project is on hold until the Starliner is back on the road for the Route 66 Fun Run Seligman to Oatman on the weekend of May 4-6th 2007.
