We took the 53 Kaiser to the Autorama in Sacramento CA a 600 mile trip one way so we left a day early February 12th and spent the 1st night at a KOA campground in Visilia CA  arriving at the Cal Expo RV Park on Wednesday Afternoon. We had a move in time on Thursday of 12 noon to 2 pm to take the Kaiser into the building and spent the afternoon putting down the carpet, positioning the car, cleaning and set-up the display. The show was open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the judging, as we found out later, done mostly after show hours.  This was the first car show that we have attended where the cars are judged by the International Show Car Association (ISCA) rules and we were required to leave the doors, hood, and trunk open, we didn't so the Kaiser was not judged for the interior, engine, or trunk and we placed 3rd in the mild hardtop category and received a plaque. On Thursday January 17, 2013 I went to Phoenix AZ, to pick up the now completed 53 Kaiser from Hot Rods By Dean where we had left it after the Good Guys Scottsdale show in November for the hood to be repaired for 2 dents on each side of the hood caused from the radiator support. Dean cut down the support, straightened the hood, repainted and polished both (you would never know there was a dent) then installed the re chromed dash knobs and lengthened the seat belts. The car was entered in the Grand National Roadster Show Jan. 24, 25, 26 but the indoor show was sold out by mid November so we decided to go to "The Run To The River" in Laughlin NV. We left Friday morning and checked in to the Riverside resort RV park with our truck, camper and car trailer. After setting up the camper we got the Kaiser out and wiped it down, Karen drove it down to the show in the Casino parking lot and check-in. Started work on the 50 Ford 2 Dr. project car to get it running by taking the body apart again and  repaired the rusted areas of the bottom of both front fenders.     The left front inner finder was repaired where the battery was located and the shelf lengthened to move the battery closer to the fire wall and clear of the power steering pump.     To complete the engine wiring I had to purchase the injector & oxygen sensor harness (from E-Bay) that plug into the main harness that I already had, then the three (3) harnesses had to be reconfigured as they are for a Mustang 5.0 where the throttle body is on the right and the manifold I have is from a Crown Victoria with the air intake on the left side.     The left over wire and connectors from the 2 Ron Frances wiring kits (51 Ford & 53 Kaiser) gave me enough to wire the 50.   We arrived in Scottsdale at the Good Guys Show on Thursday Nov. 15th and set up the camper in the West World RV park, picked up our entry package for the 51 and visited with among others Lee Abrams and his Brother who show their Kaisers and Darrens.       On Friday, I took the 51 to the Polo Field for show and shine then that afternoon we drove the 51 to "Hot Rods by Dean" for the kick off party and BBQ where the 53 Kaiser was featured. The car was parked at the Front Door! Dean and Tony greeted us  and I got a picture of Karen & Dean. We had BBQ hamburgers and cake, got lots of wonderful compliments on the Kaiser. Saturday, Darryl (From Dean's shop) drove the Kaiser to the show where it was displayed in the Builders Choice area along with the 51.  That afternoon we were notified by the Good Guys that the Kaiser had won "Best Bitchin" car award. We went to the  Mohave County Sheriff's K-9 benefit car show Sunday Nov. 4th to support the County's K-9 program where about 100+ cars showed up.  I parked next to a restored 1915 Ford that was done very nicely. There were low riders,  street rods, stock cars and   and an orange and yellow Willey with an antique trailer. I got a good picture of Karen with one of the Sheriff dogs.  The qweather was great with a friendly crowd.  Next its off to Good Guys Scottsdale Nov 15th to 19th.  We will have both the 51 and KarensKaiser which was just finished.
