The ongoing Cadillac project

Last post I was in the process of cutting up the 2007 Cadillac to be integrated into the 41, that was completed and all the parts were kept except the outer sheet metal. The picture below show the roof being cut off, front and rear clip are gone leaving the center section and fire wall of the floor pan.

The "B" pillars were cut off and the side rails will be cut when being fit to the frame so the 41 body mounts can be attached to the frame. It was lowered onto the frame and the frame and pan marked where cuts must be made.
The top of the X member held the pan up 2" to high so it was cut down.

With the pan setting flat on the frame there were a couple of places just behind the fire wall that frame had to be cut out to make room for the lower supports of the uni-body.
With the 07 floor pans in place, but not attached, the 41 floor pans and fire wall had to be removed
I made cross braces to hold the body together while cutting out the old  and fitting the new pans.
I used 3/16 plate to make plates that were bolted to the 8 door hinge mounts Then 1" square tube for the front and 2" square tube for the center.
The fire wall and center floor pans are cut out.
If you click on the picture to enlarge it you can see the rust damage on the rockers .
The rear floor pan, back of the back seat area and trunk pan were also removed. I connected the hoist straps to 6 places to hold the body shape.
The 41 body was lowered onto the 07 floor pans to start the cut and fit process. The plan is to get all this fit together then take it apart and send the 41 body and its parts out for media blasting before I start welding it together.
