53 Kaiser close to finish

In March 2012 the Kaiser was being put back together for the final time with all the great looking chrome and stainless trim, new script on the front fenders "KarensKaiser"
A horn button from a 1948 Kaiser with a buffalo and "K" was painted to match the green, the bezel chromed and installed between the wraparound back seats.
Final paint was completed on the center console, back of the front TBird bucket seats and interior trim and was ready for glass.
It was taken to Hot Rod Interiors where Glenn Kramer installed the headliner, padded dash and covered the center console insert at the bottom of the dash, covered the package tray at the back window.
Dean picked it up and then delivered it to Bell Glass who installed the existing back glass, a new windshield from the Kaiser Club, and made all new side glass and wind wing glass.
Back at Hot Rods by Dean a door trim was designed and built for the doors that has the same shape as the outside S.S. door trim and most of the interior dash and center console work completed.
Back to Hot Rod Interiors for 3 weeks to complete upholstery with the design coming from Dean, Glenn and myself, the colors and fabric picked out by Karen.

In April Karen and I went to Deans to sit in the car and inspect the upholstery.  Karen found that the bucket seats were about 2" too high for good visibility.  Dean said he would revise the seat mounts.
The  interior is beautiful with subtle , warm colors, bright green trim polished aluminium and chrome trim.
The trunk is also finished in the same material.

The engine compartment needs to be detailed but is good looking with a few items yet to be done - overflow tank,  mount air filter, A/C hoses made and charged, alignment, suspension checked out, etc.

Karen's Kaiser has turned out to be a special car.
