After all the parts and pieces that would fit into the blast cabinet were cleaned and painted the sway bar and drive shaft were left and had to be sand blasted with the larger unit outside the shop.  The original 292 CI engine and transmission were set into the chassis to make sure I had the correct drive shaft and that all the linkage, brake & fuel lines fit. New rubber brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, wheel seals and shocks were installed. The u - joints were taken apart cleaned, checked and greased then the drive line was installed along with the front sway bar with new rubber mounts. I was able to salvage most of the brake & fuel lines but had to make new lines for the rear end and front fuel line. The body was put on the rotisserie, moved outside then cleaned and washed. The body and chassis were in two (2) different bays and were moved out for the body to be put on the chassis. Bottom of the body was primed where the floor pans were replac

REBUILD ENGINE FOR THE 1947 HUDSON

In January we had saved enough money to have the 47 Hudson engine rebuilt with a quote of $4,000.00 (max) from Bailey's automotive machine in Mesa AZ. who had been recommended to me by EGGIE old car parts at the SEMA show.  The engine compartment will remain original with all the factory tags on it.  The radiator and heater core has already been rebuilt.  Lots of pictures were taken and all wires and lines tagged before the engine was pulled.  There was only one broken stud in the manifold that has been replaced.  The engine compartment and all of the under side of the car was power washed then all the wiring was repaired.  On July 7, 2013 we delivered the engine to Bailey's. He was able to save the pistons, rods and babbitt (main bearings & rods) but the valves, lifters, camshaft and some other parts had to be manufactured so it has taken 3 months to get all the parts. The engine will be picked up this week and Bailey's kept it under budget.

I finely have some time to work on the 60 Edsel Station Wagon that my friend Fred in Petaluma CA. gave me in 2008 along with all the parts.  There were 2 chassis that I brought home 1 that was under the body with the engine and 1 with the suspension on it.  The 1 with that was under the body was striped of all the parts, lines and brackets then the welds were ground smooth and mounted on the rotisserie.  The frame was sand blasted on the concrete in front of my shop so I could sweep up and reuse the sand moor than once.  Then rolled into the shop and spray painted with Summit Racing chassis semi-gloss black.  The second frame was set up out side the shop with the engine removed then the suspension parts were taken off one at a time with pictures taken so I would know how to put it back together.  All the parts were bead blasted in my blast cabinet then painted. This took a lot of hours at the blast cabinet.      Spindles, steering parts, body m
